Asking for Help Podcast

I believe the hardest thing about asking for help is building up the courage to reach out to someone and let them know what you are experiencing. The ability to ask for help is very hard on some people because they fear they may be judged or mistreated. This is why many people do not get treatment or help because they are so scared to get judged by their peers that they put their own lives at risk. This is a stigma that needs to be changed throughout our society because no matter what people are going through, many people are too scared to come out and seek help and the result of that can be drastic on their physical and mental health.

I think it takes tremendous courage to ask for help because you must be willing to take judgment or any mistreatment from anyone involved in your life. It is a very hard thing to ask for help but once you do it, you will feel so much relief and the relief for asking for help will outweigh any judgment that you face from others. We tend to underestimate others’ willingness to help because we may think they simply do no care to help so we may not even bother asking.
