As the end is near with nursing school there are many emotions that I am currently feeling. One is that I am very excited to not feel the stress that this program has put on me. I feel that once I walk across that stage there will be this huge weight lifted off my shoulders. But with that also comes with preparing for the NCLEX exam so I am going to have to change gears very quickly from finishing school to preparing for that exam. I am also excited to take my place in the work force and start working in a unit that I have a lot of interest in and a unit that will support me in my learning and help transition into practice.
As much as I am excited about working full-time post-graduation, I am also very anxious about taking the NCLEX exam and my transition into practice. As I know that my professors at UNE are doing everything, they can make sure I am ready for that exam I still sometimes question my knowledge about certain content which tends to give me anxiety. My goal to be successful in this final year of nursing school is to try to familiarize myself with the content as much as possible. In past years I would only look at content leading up to an exam. But I have found that looking over the content a lot more frequently allows me to retain the knowledge, and I have found to have better success that way. So, to summarize my goal is to look over PowerPoints and class notes the same day after class and to try to do this every day for an hour or two to not burn myself out and to be the most successful student I can.
