An example of new learning that most excited me while completing this module was the survival potential tab of the module. Learning where your priority goes to as a nurse in certain scenarios is very helpful and informational because it is how we as nurses will make our decisions on who needs treatment first. Each class of survival potential discusses the potential of survival and the priority level which is very helpful for me because now I am educated on actions that I would take if these situations were to arise.
This module reinforced the ABCs, Nursing Process and Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs. These are also important to consider when thinking about priorities for your patient. Each one of these nursing frameworks has a priority setting built into them so the nurses know based on these frameworks what actions to take for their patients first. Now that I have completed this module, I will use this new learning to make better and more informed decisions when it comes to priorities of patient’s needs.
